A powerful wave of Čiurlionis’ art still draws in Lithuanian artists of diverse fields. Jūratė Bučmytė and Albertas Krajinskas were inspired by him and created a group of paintings called “A Conversation with Čiurlionis”. According to them, these paintings emerged from their attempts to find the key to Čiurlionis’ genius. They are like an interpretation of his paintings within the eyes of a 21st century beholder. It is a dialogue that they engage in despite a century separating them! Bučmytė and Krajinskas managed to find the key to the world of the genius, in which time and space takes on a different meaning.
Five paintings have been recreated on silk, which made them into accessories that are dear to us and close to Čiurlionis’ art in their combinations of shapes and forms.
